Once you've been accepted on to the team, let your friends know with a status update! Example: "I've just signed up to run the Boston Marathon as part of the Miles for Miracles Team for Boston Children's Hospital. Come support me (Insert the link to your personal fundraising page)!"

Let folks know you're hitting your milestones, but that there's still more to go: "I've raised 50% of my goal as a member of the Miles for Miracles Team Boston. Help me make it all the way!” or “I've met my fundraising goal for Miles for Miracles Team Boston! But, no reason to stop now. Help me go farther!"

As race day approaches, let folks know to give them a last chance to give: "I'm running the Boston Marathon tomorrow for Boston Children's Hospital and there's still time to give! Go to (Insert the link to your personal fundraising page)!"

Set up your cell phone to post to Twitter or Facebook. That way you can make status updates before and after the race. Then you can post things like "I'm at the start line of the Boston Marathon. I’m thrilled to be part of the Miles for Miracles Team representing Boston Children's Hospital!" or "Just finished the race! I saw the Boston Children's Hospital cheering section on the course and they were great. There’s still time to donate to my fundraising efforts (Insert the link to your personal fundraising page)!"
