Beth's NYC Marathon for Boston Children's Hospital
Dear Friends and Family,
Before embarking on sabbatical this past summer, I wanted to come up with a goal that would keep me active while my family and I traveled (and ate!) our way through SE Asia and Spain. After running the Chicago Marathon nearly 5 years ago, I thought it was once again time to run another and the NYC Marathon has always been on my list.
As many of you know, I have a soft spot for Boston Children's Hospital and have been involved with this organization for over a decade. I figured running as part of the Boston Children's Hospital's Miles for Miracles team to run the NYC Marathon on November 5, 2017 was a good way to combine my passion for running and my passion for all that Boston Children's Hospital does to help children in need. I'll be running with my friend, Nicole, as well as 99 other Miles for Miracles team members and am excited to run one of the world's largest marathons for an institution that helps children globally.
It's hard to live in Boston and not hear about one or more children that Boston Children's Hospital has helped in some way. We are fortunate to have such a fantastic resource in the Boston community but the hospital can't operate without the support of outside donors. Insurance and public funds are not sufficient to cover the cost of care itself, let alone the research and special things that make Boston Children's Hospital all that it is. Every dollar counts.
I'd love your support for me and for the hospital as I train for the NYC Marathon this fall. Your help and support (including moral support) is much appreciated!
