Miles for Miracles : Boston's Run to Remember
I am so excited to be joining the Boston Children's Hospital Miles for Miracles team this May to run Boston's Run to Remember Half Marathon in honor of all 1st responders killed in the line of duty.
I started my nursing career as a new graduate nurse on the Organ Transplant / Surgical unit at Boston Children's Hospital 2.5 years ago and have been so lucky to work alongside some of the most compassionate and caring nurses, physicians, child life specialists, volunteers, and many others.
Within these walls I have also crossed paths with some of the strongest families and individuals I have met over the course of my lifetime. Our kids face such adversity at such a young age that they grow into the role of a fighter. They demonstrate such strength, perseverance, and grace in their fight to be feel better every day- sometimes with tears and sometimes with a contagious laugh or smile. They have blessed my life and touched my heart; They are my inspiration to try to make a positive impact every day and my motivation to get me through my first half marathon. Please join me in supporting the Miles for Miracles team to allow our patients and their families the best care and support in their fight!
I have joined the Miles for Miracles team because I believe so strongly in all the amazing things Boston Children's Hospital does for kids:
- The hospital's patient care programs are unusually sensitive to what sick and injured children and their families really need.
- Researchers regularly make amazing discoveries that change children's lives.
- Boston Children's welcomes kids whose families can't afford health care--more than any other hospital in Massachusetts.
- Community programs makes a point of reaching out to help low-income and at-risk kids.
And the hospital doesn't just stop there. Boston Children's really understands the importance of training the next generation of top pediatricians and nurses, so they can continue to provide the best, most innovative care possible to kids.
Support my run, support the hospital, and most importantly support our kids and their families! Please make a gift today.
