Thanks for visiting my page!
For those of you that don't know, I had surgery at Children's in January of 2017 to remove an osteochondroma (an overgrown piece of bone) from my knee. Throughout my experience, the doctors, nurses, and volunteers were all so friendly and hospitable that I decided to return to Children's last summer to volunteer. While there, I met cheerful and resilient children, and I looked forward to spending time with them each week. (We colored in pictures of Spiderman, played Candyland—lots of Candyland!—and read books like Caps for Sale!) I think about these kids and the hospital frequently, so I wanted to combine my appreciation for the hospital with my interest in running. I've run Cross Country for four years and Track for two years, but I also love doing road races! Some of my favorites include the Run to Remember, the Madison Mini Marathon, the Westbrook Strong 5K, the Gobble Gobble Gobble, and the Jim Kane 5K. I've always wanted to run the Falmouth Road Race, so I'm super excited to run it with Children's this August!
Thank you so much for donating to the hospital!
