One week to Boston ... time to gather my team.
I first ran Boston Marathon with Patrick back in 2001, and on April 17th I am running my 13th Boston Marathon with my great friends, Mary and Ann, for Boston Children’s Hospital. In 2001, it would have been beyond my comprehension to be running Boston with two friends, in memory of each of their gorgeous daughters, Casey and Maggie. It still is.
It is not always success that propels you forward or makes you better – it is often life’s stumbling blocks. Those hurdles which are seemingly insurmountable challenge you to just put one foot in front of the other. So this winter, it is exactly what we have done – with Casey’s sister Alex, Mary and Ann, (and a trusty back-up crew) we have clocked hundreds of miles, up and down the hills, through the snow, and along the Charles River. I may be responsible for mapping our runs and the Uber ride home, but every mile I am privileged to share in the joie de vivre that Casey and Maggie both embodied, and with their inspiration to always be better, I am honored to be part of the Miles for Miracles Team to support the fabulous doctors and nurses at Boston Children’s Hospital.
Now it is time to help get us to the finish line.
As always, Thankyou. Thankyou. Thankyou.
