"To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded" - Ralph Waldo Emerson
Boston Children's Hospital has solidified their place in the hearts of our family for three years now. Since Max was diagnosed with Classical EDS when he was 5, we have been so very fortunate to be held by this amazing place and his incredible team of doctors. Soon after we learned that life was changing for Max and our family, I began to search for a way to show my gratitude and pay it forward. Today, I remain committed to these goals as well as my deep desire to provide an example to my children that we all have opportunities to do good in life and give back to others, even when we are suffering ourselves. Apparently, they are getting the message as it was Max and Zane who convinced me to run my 3rd consecutive Boston Marathon for BCH. They simply would not have it any other way. And really, neither would I. I am once again honored and humbled to be a part of this team.
I hope you will join me in continuing to provide a demonstration of support for all of the families from around the world (and many from Vermont!) who rely on the specialized care provided by BCH. Sometimes this care is LITERALLY keeping their child alive or has saved their child’s life. These families have long, hard, sometimes isolating roads, and by supporting BCH, you are supporting them. We are so fortunate in Vermont to be in such close proximity to the nation’s #1 children’s hospital on the cutting edge of research that saves lives and improves the quality of the lives of children facing serious medical issues.
I’m running as part of the Miles for Miracles team because I believe so strongly in the all of the amazing work Boston Children’s Hospital does for kids:
- Children from all over the world find hope and healing through 258 clinical programs—more expertise than any other pediatric hospital in the world.
- Patient families find support, from big needs like temporary housing steps from the hospital to small kindnesses that relieve stress.
- More than 1,400 researchers find solutions others can’t through lifesaving discoveries that are shared with the world.
Simply put: Boston Children’s works to give every child a healthy future. You can help turn my miles into miracles for kids. Please give today.
