Leo's Miles for Miracles Fundraising Page
Dear Friends and Family,
As many of you know, I was born with a heart defect called TGA - Transposition of the Great Arteries. My Aorta and Pulmonary Artery were 'transposed' or reversed - meaning I had 2 closed circuits in my heart and would have died without immediate surgical intervention at birth. I recieved that surgery and subsequent care at Boston Children's and I am here today because of the hospital. My family is forever grateful for the expertise, care and compassion we have received there.
I hope you'll join me in raising funds for Boston Children's through the Miles for Miracles Boston Marathon program. I have two amazing runner partners - Amanda Crowe and Jason Reynolds - both of whom are running 26.2 miles AND fundraising for Children's with me!
I've joined the Miles for Miracles team because I believe so strongly in all the amazing things Boston Children's Hospital does for kids:
- The hospital's patient care programs are unusually sensitive to what sick and injured children and their families really need.
- Researchers regularly make amazing discoveries that change children's lives.
- Boston Children's welcomes kids whose families can't afford health care--more than any other hospital in Massachusetts.
- Community programs makes a point of reaching out to help low-income and at-risk kids.
And the hospital doesn't just stop there. Boston Children's really understands the importance of training the next generation of top pediatricians and nurses, so they can continue to provide the best, most innovative care possible to kids.
Please join me in supporting Boston Children's and make a tax-deductible gift today.
Leo (and Max and Courtney and Rumel!)
