SIDS Twinkle Star Fundraiser
We are looking forward to hosting the 2nd annual SIDS Twinkle Star Fundraiser to increase awareness and raise money for the Robert's Program and the SIDS/SUDC Research Lab at Boston Children's Hospital.
The mission to find a cause and prevent SIDS is one that is near and dear to our hearts. On the evening of June 25, 2016, our lives were changed forever when we lost our beautiful daughter, Siena, at 10 1/2 months old to SIDS. She was a happy, healthy, funny, loving little girl whose life was taken from us way too soon. We will always be heartbroken by Siena's loss but we are determined to try and turn this experience into something positive in her name. We would very much love for her brief life to make a profound difference in this world.
The Robert’s Program is a clinical service offered to families in Massachusetts who have lost a child under the age of three years suddenly and unexpectedly. The program performs state-of-the-art research into sudden unexpected death in pediatrics to understand fatal underlying medical vulnerabilities that make infants and children more at risk for death.
Once we enrolled Siena into the Robert's Program, Dr. Goldstein, and his team, spent over six months researching her case. Finally, in May of 2017, we met with Dr. Goldstein and he helped us to understand why Siena passed away in her sleep. We will always be grateful to the Robert's Program for giving us the answers our minds were so desperately looking for; but our hearts will forever be left wondering why this had to happen to our little girl.
Please consider supporting our fundraiser. Last year, over $21,000 was raised so generously by our dearest family and friends. My HOPE is that one day we can prevent such future tragedies from happening so that other families will not have to suffer such a devestating loss.
Thank you again,
Joe & Mary Ann
