Fresh Pond PYTT Tribe
We are a tribe of Yogi’s who completed Power Yoga Teacher Training together with CorePower Yoga in the Fall of 2017. We all feel so grateful for the life changing benefits that the practice of yoga has given to us. As a group we wanted to band together and organize a Karma Yoga Project - Something that we could all do together to "give back". There are endless opportunities to give and we wanted to choose a project that we could all participate in and that would resonate with all of us.
We learned so many things over the course of of Teacher training. One of those things was a basic understanding of the Sanskrit language. Sanskrit is the classical language of India and is a universal language for all yoga teachers to honor the teachers and lineage that came before us. A Sanskrit word often associated with the facet of yoga meaning “service” is the Sanskrit word “Seva”. Phonetically, “Seva” is composed of two words, “saha,” which means “with that,” and “eva,” which means “too.” Combined this word means “together with” and describes the actions that seek collective uplifting through the understanding of the needs of others. The meaning is based on togetherness and integration. It is an expression of compassion for others and a genuine desire to uplift those around you.
With this in mind we have chosen to participate in Yoga Reaches Out to help Boston Children's Hospital continue its amazing work for kids and families. During this day-long yogathon, 1,000 yogis will come together for an inspirational day of yoga, music and fundraising - all to help bring peace and healing to others.
This year your gift will benefit the Wellness Program at Boston Children's.
Please support our mission by giving a gift to one of our team members.
