Ok - so last year was going to be my last year at Children's. Well, there's just something about this place! In my new role as Project Manager for the hospital's 150th Anniversary, I am learning more and more about the amazing work that has and continues to be done here. Did you know we invented the measles vacine? The polio virus? The first epilepsy clinic and the first cardiac surgery on an child? We were also the first hospital to have a GeMS clinic where kids could safely and without stigma have transition surgery. Our curennt work in stem cell, genomics and precision medicine will not only save children's lives, but also adults who might suffer from Alzeimers and cancer. It's quite a place.
I hope you will once again help me reach my goal and support the work of this incredible hospital. Asalways, thank you. Carola
