Since June 2011 Jeremy, Tristan and I have been walking to support the pediatric transplant team.
Our beautiful son was born June 3, 2010. Shortly after his birth, around 6 weeks old he was diagnosed with biliary atresia. It was crushing to us to hear everything that our son would have to go through to survive. He had a Kasaii surgery to help his native liver but sadly the surgery was considered unsuccessful because his liver was already to far gone. We knew he would need a liver transplant before he was a year old. Our focus the next few months was to keep Tristan as healthy and as big as possible to survive a transplant. (With liver disease both things are extremely difficult) Luckily we had BCH to help us through, teaching us how to help Tristan achieve both of these goals. It wasn't an easy few months but with support of children's and our families we were able to do just that. January 6 ,2011 with the combined effort of BCH and Lahey Clinic, Tristan received his life saving liver transplant from his dad, Jeremy. We are so thankful to both hospitals. Tristan continues to receive his treatment from the team at BCH. Although, it hasn't been an easy road we are so lucky to have such an amazing, beautiful, talented little boy and get to experience all those things that "normal" kids get to experience. The money we raise goes directly to the pediatric transplant fund at children's hospital. Please consider making a donation. Children's has given us a life to love, share, and grow with and for that we are so thankful.
