As we walk for the 7th time for children's hospital I am reminded again of why this walk is so important to us. When Tristan was born in June 2010 it was obvious that something was wrong. After a number of examinations and meeting with the team he was officially diagnosed with biliary atresia. Once we knew that the kasaii procedure was considered unsuccessful we knew within the year he would need a transplant. It seems so easy to say but as I reflect back it's incredible that we survived as a family that first year. So many firsts, first time parents, first real illness we had to deal with, and having to watch your child fight to live. I'm so thankful for the support we received from the transplant team and our family and complete strangers that year. The support to help us was crucial in keeping our hopes up. Thankfully we we're able to do a live donation and Jeremy could donate to Tristan. Im forever grateful to him and the surgeons and the nurses care. Without them we wouldn't have the beautiful 8 year old today. Please consider making a donation. This money helps families like, us who are currently going through the transplant process. It helps ease some of the financial burden they will be experiencing.
Thank you so much for your love and support
