Jake and his family are so appreciative of the care he receives at Boston Children's Hospital. He is so lucky to be able to attend the "Keeping the Beat Retreat" every fall with new and old friends, all with pacemakers and ICD's, just like him. This fall will be his 3rd year attending KTBR. I can't even express in words how emotional it is for me, as his mom, to see him dancing, laughing, and being a normal kid with so many other special kids. Everyone there has a story to share, but the greatest thing about this retreat is that none of that matters. They are just kids at camp having a great time. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your support! -Kelly
"I was born with a heart defect so I got a pacemaker. My pacemaker helps my heart beat. My favorite thing at camp is to go ziplining and my 2nd favorite is ice cream for breakfast. My 3rd favorite is hanging out with my counselors. Keeping the beat is special because everybody has a pacemaker. Thank you so much for donating!"
