We have joined the walk for Boston Children's Hospital again because Boston Children's Hospital saved Tyler's life!
Tyler was born with a congenital heart defect known as Transposition of the Great Arteries. He had open heart surgery performed at 2 days old !
Boston Children's Hospital provided amazing care to Tyler and to our entire family during a very stressful, anxiety provoking time in our lives.
Tyler was in the hospital for 10 days and has been amazingly healthy ever since. Curently ,Tyler is struggling with certain aspects of school and daily life in areas of attention, organization and working memory etc. Boston Children's and his cardiologist here in Springfield have been working hard to help us get some answers and to get him the help he needs in school through the Cardiac Neurodevelopmental Program. This all links back to lack of oxygenation at birth and they have a specific program there to help kids just like him!! Its pretty amazing that they have such specialties!!
Thanks to the skilled Surgeon and staff at Boston Children's, we get to enjoy this happy, wild, energetic, goofy 8 year old!
We walk annually to give back for all the hospital and it's staff did, and continue to do for us. This is our 9th year walking to give back!
Please help us give back to a place that saves and helps so many children every day !!
