This year we are walking to honor Alexander and Declan.
Alexander was diagnosed with Semicircular Canal Dehiscence in January of 2016. Not knowing if he was going to completely lose his hearing was the scariest moment of our lives as we searched for answers. Luckily when we turned to the amazing doctors of Boston Children's hospital they were not only able to diagnose Alex, but also have worked closely with other doctors around the world to develop a plan moving forward. Dr. Awdeh and Dr. Hughes have truly been amazing. Thanks to their support and guidance Alex is adjusting well to his hearing aids and calls them the source of his superpowers! Nothing can slow our superhero loving little man down.
In June of 2016 Declan was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. After beating cancer once Declan relapsed in March only to discover in April that he also has lymphoma. Now this amazing, dinosaur loving, 5 year old is fighting two cancers before he can receive a lifesaving bone marrow transplant. Although Declan's doctors are in Portland, OR, they are part of a network that includes Boston Children's Hospital.
As we fundraiser this year all money will be split between the ENT department in Alexander's name, and pediatric cancer in Declan's.
Please join us in walking or donating, no amount it too small! Together we can change a child's life!
