It is that time of year again. The walk is an annual reminder for us as to how fortunate we are to have such a great hospital in our backyard. In September of 2007, we had an amazing experience with Children's Hospital Boston. Abigail Eilis Galligan. Within moments of her birth, the staff of Brigham and Women's Hospital knew something was wrong. Abbey’s heart wasn’t working properly. Abbey spent almost two days in the NICU at Brigham and Women's before being transferred to the CCU at Children's. The teams from the two hospital worked seamlessly togetehr. She had a successful cardiac catheterization and has been doing great ever since. We can't express the enough the appreciation and love we feel for those who took care of our family during that week. We continue to have check-ups at the Cardiology Clinic at Children's. Today Abbey is the thriving, healthy, active 9 1/2 year old they assured us she would be.
