It's all about teamwork! And our team is united in support of Eversource Walk for Boston Children's Hospital because we want to help patients get the care they need.
And by patients, we mean Nicolas and Simon, our little Supermen, and all the boys and girls just like them. Both Nico and Simon, destined to be great friends, were both born with a Congenital Heart Defect (CHD). About 1 in every 100 newborns have congenital heart defects, and is one of most common birth defects. Nico, born March 2016, had a VSD and Tetrollogy of Fallot, along with Tracheoesophageal fistula (TEF). Simon, born March 2017, was born with Transposition of the Great Arteries and Necrotizing enterocolitis. How crazy, that these two little boys, who's parents are friends, and all work together, were born with similar birth defects?
Thankfully, Nico and Simon's parents had the great resource of Boston Children's Hospital to mend their little hearts and fix them up like new.
Join us in this fundraising effort to help more superhero's and their families.
Boston Children's Hospital is ranked #1 in more specialties than any other pediatric hospital by U.S. News & World Report. Here are a few reasons why:
- The hospital's patient care programs provide the best, most innovative care possible.
- Researchers regularly make amazing discoveries that change children's lives.
- Boston Children's welcomes kids whose families can't afford health care--more than any other hospital in Massachusetts.
- Community programs makes a point of reaching out to help low-income and at-risk kids.
And the hospital doesn't just stop there. Boston Children's really understands the importance of training the next generation of top pediatricians and nurses.
