Ava has gone through two open heart surgeries due to her CHD Hypo-plastic Right (Right side of the heart never developed). She just turned 10 and is doing much better now. Due to her heart condition, she never learned to eat normally and has been feed via a G-Tube early in her life. It as took several years of Feeding therapy but she finally ate on her own. This year we had a minor set back due to her condition she stayed at Children's beginning of May for 10 days, which requires her to be on a low-fat diet and increase some medication. We hope she will get back to eating a full-fat diet soon.
We walk because Boston Children's Hospital saved Ava's life, and continues to provide the care she needs. They give so many children a second chance at life when others doctors have given up on them. Children's Hospital Boston provides families and children Hope.We are so proud of her, and so thankful to Boston Children's Hospital for all they have done for her and our family. I am certain that she would not be where she is today if it were not for all of her doctors, and nurses at Boston Children's Hospital. Until every child is well..

- Boston Children's welcomes kids whose families can't afford health care--more than any other hospital in Massachusetts.
