Below is our “story” from the walk last year. Since then, we’ve had our many “expected days” at Children’s, but then also the unexpected such as a broken leg for Blake in September and spending most of Christmas Day in their ER. We are as grateful as ever for not just what they do, but how they do it. Simply amazing, and an honor to help this special place in any way we can.
The M's in our team name are for Blake and Kayla's truly amazing 2 lead doctors who continue to go above and beyond to make sure they are at their best. In addition to the kids, they have been so good to us.
Dr. Nina Ma is the Director of the Bone Health Program at Children’s and has been by our side (literally and figuratively) since years ago when she quickly diagnosed the rare “condition”, which their variation of has since been described in a study by doctors in Switzerland as "This is the first report of...".
Dr. Brieanne Midura isn’t just our phenomenal pediatrician from Dedham Medical, but our trusted helmsan. Dr Midura has made all the right decisions for us, when being the first doctor to see what Blake was dealing with, to everything before and after including seamlessly working with everyone at Children’s, regardless of whether needed on a weekday or weekend.
We are also tremendously appreciative of the many others at Children who continue to make such a difference, from the friendly team in phlebotomy, to Dr Baum who is also trusted by close friends of ours, we are so grateful to this institution.
If someone you know might want to donate to our team and be interested in reading a very small part of Blake & Kayla's story, the link for the article Children's did on them a while back can be accessed via http://www.BlakeAndKayla.com.
