Impact on kids cancer
Hope Riders make a true difference in the lives of kids and families who rely on us, like Ethan (pictured above).
A doctor’s visit for what his mom thought was a cold, revealed Ethan had stage 4 high risk neuroblastoma. Ethan, 2, battled through 9 rounds of chemo, two bone marrow transplants, 1 month of radiation, major surgery and an onslaught of rare complications.
“At one point, one side of his face was paralyzed and he couldn’t smile,” his mom, Rachel, said. “I missed his smile. I realized how much it helped get us all through.”
Now 4, Ethan’s scans are clear. He’s heading back to preschool—wearing his signature smile.
