First off, I want to thank my family, friends, co-workers and even strangers who stood by me and encouraged me while I trained for the 2013 Boston Marathon. From positive words, running offers and your generous donations to Boston Children’s Hospital - I was overwhelmed with love. I may write for a living but your unwavering support has me struggling to find the words to properly express my appreciation. So simply – THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. I could not have made it through that day without you.
April 15th, 2013 was one of the most awe-inspiring, challenging and terrifying days of my life. I am so lucky and thankful my friends and family made it through the day safely. My heart goes out to those whose lives were forever changed by the horrendous attack on Boylston. But that one cowardly act will not keep Boston down.
Running with the Miles for Miracles team for the 2013 Boston Marathon was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I gained new friends and was shown the incredibleness of those already in my life. This Patriot’s Day, tens of thousands of runners will line up at the Hopkinton start line and put one foot in front of the other for 26.2 miles to cross the finish in downtown Boston. I will once again be among them.
You read that right – I’m doing it….again. And this time I WILL finish. I have the privilege of once again being able to run with the Miles for Miracles team supporting Boston Children’s Hospital. It’s a place changing children’s lives every day. From research to treatment – Boston Children’s is making a huge impact on kids across the country. Please consider helping me support this incredible institution.
Look for me this Monday April 21st, 2014 as I finally take a right on Hereford, left on Boylston and cross the finish line.
For the Kids,
